Business awards and achievements
•Glenbrook Automotive Group has appointed Robert Barney director of fleet sales and service. he has over 40 years experience in the automotive business. he will be responsible for the development of new business and servicing the existing fleet account for the automotive group. he will represent each of the dealerships affiliated with the Glenbrook Automotive Group, which includes Glenbrook Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Glenbrook Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz of Fort Wayne, City Chevrolet, City Ford and Warsaw Buick GMC.
•Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast has named Karen Jones ASA math department chair. She earned a bachelor of arts in math and French from Indiana University and a master of science in math from IPFW. She will manage the ASA math department and teach classes; David Jones has been named full-time instructor in automotive technology. he earned a bachelor of science in organizational leadership from Indiana Tech; Jack Caster has been named assistant professor of mathematics. he earned a bachelor’s degree in teaching mathematics from Ball State University and a master’s degree in teaching from IPFW; Clarre Burkhardt has been named full-time instructor in liberal arts and sciences. She earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Northern Kentucky University and a master of science in applied mathematics from the University of Dayton; Erin Salyers has been named full-time instructor in design technology. She earned a bachelor of science in computer graphics technology from Purdue University; and Charlene Lommatzsch has been named administrative assistant in disability support services. She earned an associate of science from IPFW.
•The Mako Group has added Brian T. O’Hara as chief information security officer and Kim Fallahay as a Chicago-based security account executive. O’Hara is the founding and current president of the northeast Indiana chapter of the Information Systems Security Association, a member of both the Information Systems Audit and Control Systems Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Fallahay will be responsible for relationship development in the Chicago and Detroit markets, focusing on banks, credit unions, hospitals and publicly traded companies.
•Lutheran Life Villages has promoted Vicky Eisenhut to director of human resources. She will oversee the day-to-day operations within human resources and be involved in some of Lutheran Life Villages’ strategic planning. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human development at Purdue University and an MBA at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. She has earned senior professional in human resources certification.
•IPFW Chancellor Michael a. Wartell was recently named chairman of the Army Education Advisory Committee by the Training and Doctrine Command assistant deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7, Michael D. Formica. he will assume primary leadership of the senior Army educational advisory body. The Educational Committee advises the Secretary of the Army, the Chief of Staff of the Army, TRADOC Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff and senior Army leaders on learning, training and educational matters or major concern to the Army.
•Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry has appointed Jim Morlan and Christopher Payne to the Fort Wayne Housing Authority board of commissioners. Morlan works for The North Eastern Group, a residential and commercial contracting company. he has been active in the State of Indiana’s Home Energy Conservation program. he is a licensed lead abatement contractor working within the Indiana Department of Health’s “Lead & Health Homes Program” for local rehabilitation projects. Payne is a local developer and business owner of the CORE Group. he had previously been a consultant for Neighbor Works, a collaborative revitalization effort among the city of Fort Wayne, central-city churches, the LaRez Neighborhood Association and other private and nonprofit partners.
•Grabill Bank has hired Doug Meyer as vice president and business banker. he is a graduate of IPFW and has attended the Midwest School for Community Bankers. he has 20 years of commercial lending, banking and management experience. he will be responsible for business development on the Business Banking team located at Grabill Bank’s Business Banking Center on Merchandise Drive.
•Manchester College has hired Amanda Kreps-Long as director of development. She is a graduate of Manchester College and earned a master’s of social work in policy, planning and administration from Western Michigan University.
•University of Saint Francis has promoted Trois Hart to associate vice president. She will continue to oversee university marketing functions in her new role. She has 25 years of marketing and management experience in the northern Indiana financial services industry.
•Do it best Corp. announces the following new hires: Kevin Butler, merchandising project leader; Dave Hoffman, IT Web developer; Irene Martin, e-Commerce member support coordinator; Joyce Pierce, sales and business development member services clerk; and Steve Rose, human resources safety director.
•Indiana State Bar Association recently announced the 2012 inaugural class of its Leadership Development Academy. Local members are Spencer J. Feighner, Haller & Colvin; Lindsay M. Hurni, Burt Blee Dixon Sutton & Bloom; Josh C. Neal, Barrett & McNagny; and Gina M. Venturelli, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. The lawyers are accomplished legal practitioners who have been admitted to practice for less than 15 years.

•Hallmark Home Mortgage employees Tina Bennett, Michelle Clayton, Jeff Davis Kelly Durnell, Michelle Houlihan, Patrick Kinder,
Mark Meussling, Michelle Smekens and Jaymi Sullivan, all senior loan officers, have been inducted in the 2011 Hallmark Hall of Fame class.
•Tourkow Crell Rosenblatt & Johnston announces that James P. Buchholz has joined the firm as partner. His practice is centered on commercial litigation and includes advice to employers and business owners. The new office is in Star Building, Suite 1200, 127 W. Berry St.
•Summit Re has added Shaun Peterson as vice president and lead reinsurance underwriter to its executive staff. he joins the actuarial and underwriting team and will focus on provider excess-of-loss insurance and health plan excess-of-loss reinsurance.
