Three bake-off winners from West end Fair enter statewide competition by MARTA GOUGER January 07, 2012

Melanie Frantz believes the secret to a good cake is fresh eggs from the farm and milk straight from the dairy. And lots of chocolate and peanut butter, of course.

This morning, the Brodheadsville woman is taking her Mom Mom’s Chocolate Cake to the Hershey’s bake-off at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. She’s one of three Monroe County residents who qualified at the West end Fair to compete in the baking competition at the annual show in Harrisburg.
